Pay your way.
The door's open.
Present your card, phone, or watch, wait for the screen to turn green, and take what you want. Open as many doors as you like — it all rings up together when you're done.
Four steps, start to finish.
The first time you shop, you'll have it down. Here's the whole thing.
Tap, swipe, or insert to open
Use whichever you've got handy: tap your card, phone, or watch at the gold symbol up top, swipe your card on the right, or insert a chip card at the bottom. When it's approved, the whole screen turns green with a checkmark and a beep — the door's unlocked.
Take what you want, close the door
Grab your items and shut the door. The market takes it from there — the camera and software log exactly what you picked up.
Open another door, same card
Want something from the cooler next to it? Tap again to open it. Every door you open joins the same cart, so it's still one order.
Get your receipt
A moment after your last door closes, everything rings up together. Choose your receipt by email or text, and you're on your way.
A few things worth knowing.
Small details that make the whole thing feel easy once you've got them.
The 3-second rule
Changed your mind right after closing a door? You've got about three seconds to reopen it and put an item back — do that, and it won't be charged. So grab what you're sure about.
A small hold on your card
When you first tap, your bank places a temporary hold — usually $5–$10 — to confirm your payment will go through. It isn't a charge. Once your visit ends, only what you took is billed, and the hold clears.
When the final charge lands
The system double-checks each item you took before billing your card the real total. That review usually posts to your bank within about 24 hours.
Shop alongside a coworker
You and the person next to you can shop at the same time. Each tap keeps its own cart, so your items and your receipt stay yours, no matter who's at the market with you.
Take nothing, pay nothing
Open a door, change your mind, take nothing, and close it — you're charged nothing at all. Your bank simply releases the hold on its own. With no purchase to settle it against, though, that release can take up to three days to clear. It's the one good reason to be sure before you swipe: an unused hold can sit on your account a little longer than a real purchase would.
The 3-minute rule
Every door stays locked until you tap, so each cabinet takes its own swipe to open. The timing that matters is the hold: the preauthorization from your first tap lasts about three minutes, and every door you open within that window rings up together on that one hold. Swipe after the three minutes are up and there's a single consequence — your bank places a fresh preauthorization to cover the new window. Nothing's lost; you just keep shopping. So three minutes is the goal, not a deadline.
What it means, what to do.
Now and then the reader flags something — a message, or a colored light. Here's what each one means and what to do.
The reader didn't quite catch your card or phone — it often happens when a tap lifts away too quickly. Hold it steady against the reader a moment longer and it'll read.
Your bank didn't approve this one. It may be a funds issue, or your bank may not recognize the payment source — it appears as 365 Retail Markets — and flagged it to be safe. Try another card, or give your bank a quick call to okay it.
This one's on us to sort out. Reach STX using any of the options below and we'll take care of it for you.
The green lights along the side and bottom of the reader stay on whenever it's healthy. If they've gone dark, the card reader needs attention — reach STX and we can usually sort it out remotely, no visit needed.
A red bar on the reader, paired with a beep, is a Health Safety Alert — a temperature lock that keeps any food that may have warmed up from being sold. It's the market looking out for you. It can trip when a door is held open too long, so knowing what you want before you swipe keeps things moving for you and the next person. If you see and hear it, reach STX right away and we'll get it cleared.
The whole thing, start to finish.
